The Opportunity
After months of working with other CMOs without much success, PN1 (the partner) approached CKM with the opportunity to develop a commercially viable process for synthesizing their novel, functional food ingredient. PN1 was to imminently launch their product and urgently needed a cost-effective, scalable process to be solidified.
Our Action
After a careful evaluation of the “fit” of the opportunity, we executed a proposal with PN1 and developed an action plan. To properly implement this plan, we assembled the development team - led by Dr. Scott Harring and supported by several members of CKM’s Scientific Advisory Board. The development proceeded with two-week action plans followed by a review and update of objectives for the following two-week period.
Our Results
Our exceptional scientific team delivered on our partner’s request and then some. As seen in the adjacent table, we substantially improved PN1’s process by essentially every metric, added significant IP, and successfully converted PN1 into a commercial manufacturing partner with CKM.
These results demonstrate how CKM’s team can add tremendous value to an existing synthesis, develop not only an improved process (yield, quality and commercial pricing) but also scale it up, manufacture and deliver commercial quantities.
